somebody once asked me

'HOW DO YOU KNOW HE IS THE ONE IF YOU HAVENT HAD SEX WITH HIM? FOR ALL YOU KNOW, HE MIGHT HAVE ALL SORTS OF DEFECTS ON HIS YOU-KNOW-WHAT..'

that somebody further added,

'ITS GOOD TO LIVE TOGETHER BEFORE YOU GET MARRIED. THAT WAY YOU WILL KNOW YOUR PARTNER'S TRUE COLOR. DONT YOU THINK?'

hmm. made me think. hard

this question was asked by a non-muslim. he was persistent in justifying that what he was telling me, is actually the norm between those young couples who are in their path of getting married..

from what i comprehend, he was actually telling me 'to test the market' first. if it's 'suitable and fun' then go ahead with it. buy a ring, get married and have sex everyday. kapish

how am i supposed to tell him that it isnt that easy peasy for a muslim.

i did tell him all those pantang larang in being a muslim. but i know, from the look that he gave me after my being an ustazah to him, he didnt buy it. if i read correctly, his face spelt 'BULLSHIT'

there's right and wrong in his contentions. i didnt automatically judge him as being vulgar. he's not a muslim after all. he's naive, i would say..in all aspects of his comprehension about Islam. i would probably act differently if that sentense was uttered by a muslim. hempuk dengan kerusi and rejam dengan batu, thats what i'd do!

i think it all comes down to our nawaitu or our intention

if you love that someone, you will take him or her as he or she is, regardless of whether how ugly his or her body is

love conquers all. if you are in love, you are blinded by all the defects that your partner has..give and take, that's what's essential in a relationship, no?
